You are likely on this page of our website because you are interested in purchasing a Zuchon puppy. Others of you may simply be asking, What is a Zuchon and how did I stumble across this website page? Those of you who do not know already, a Zuchon is a mix between a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frise. Both the Shih Tzu and Bichon are heavily sought after breeds with a lot of great qualities. When the best of these two breeds are brought together they make a super cute hybrid dog breed, the Zuchon.
Life Span – Zuchon have a lifespan average of 12-15 years. They are a smaller breed which typically has a longer lifespan than larger breeds. Additionally, because the Zuchon is a mixed breed they do not have a lot of the health issues that some purebred breeds can have.
Activity Level – Moderate – The Zuchon will enthusiastically jump at a chance to play games. Enthusiastic is properly one of the best words to describe the demeanor of a Zuchon. They are not hyperactive, but definitely playful.
Potential Height – 10-12 inches tall at the shoulder. A Zuchon will never be a big dog but what they lack in size they make up for in personality.
Potential Weight – 9-13 pounds on average – The Zuchon can certainly exceed 13 pounds especially with the help of their owners who might spoil them a little too much with treats.
Barking –Low –Zuchons are not known to be an excessively yappy dog, the tend to only bark when alerting their owners that there is someone at the front door. They actually make great watchdogs and are very vigilant over their households.
Shedding – Very Little –Zuchons have long hair that can get tangled if it isn’t brushed regularly but they are not known for being heavy shedders. Any shedding that you might have with a Zuchon would be minimal.
Family Friendly – YesZuchons make a great addition to any family. Zuchons are very attentive to their owners and have been known to make great pets for seniors as long as they can get a daily walk. Zuchons can be great with small children while under supervision.
Pet-Friendly – Yes – The Zuchon is friendly in nature so it gets along with other dogs without much resistance. The Zuchon is a small dog though and caution should be taken when introducing other dogs to the Zuchon. The Zuchon may be injured easily if other dogs are not gentle.
