What is a Schnoodle? The Schnoodle is a designer breed that is a mix between a Schnauzer and a Poodle. There are three different sizes of Schnoodle. Their sizes are determined by whether or not their poodle parent was a Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle, or Toy Poodle. The Standard Poodle is the largest of the Poodle breeds, followed by the Miniature Poodle, and finally the Toy Poodle is the smallest.
Lifespan – 10 to 15 years – The smaller the Poodle parent, the longer of a lifespan the Schnoodle will have. The general rule of thumb is the smaller the dog, the longer they live.
Activity Level – Moderate – They need about 30 to 60 minutes of exercise each day to keep them from getting too restless. However, they will quickly adapt to their owners activity levels and lifestyle quickly.
Potential Height – 14 to 26 inches tall at the shoulder. The height of the Schnoodle depends upon what type of Poodle parent they had.
Potential Weight – 20 to 75 pounds – The Schnoodle has one of the largest ranges of weight in the canine kingdom. Keep in mind that a Schnoodle is a mixture between a Schnauzer and a Poodle. There are three different primary types of Poodle: Standard, Miniature, and Toy. A male standard poodle will weigh up to 75 pounds while a toy poodle female can weigh as little as 6 to 9 pounds. If the Schnoodle received the dominate gene from a standard male poodle, a Schnoodle may easily weigh up to 70 pounds.
Barking – Minimum – Schnoodles are not a noisy breed at all. However, they do get separation anxiety. When they have separation anxiety, they will vocalize their frustrations.
Shedding – Little to None- A Schnoodle is not known to shed due to their poodle parents.
Family Friendly – Yes – Schnoodles are kind, gentle and loving family dogs. They are patient with small children and very loving.
Pet Friendly – Yes – They are a very agreeable breed that is not known to be jealous or have a bad temperament.
